BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Barely hours after their expulsions and suspensions a group of expelled members of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has resolved to challenge their expulsions in court.

The former members, including prominent figures such as Kondwani Nankhumwa, Grelzeda Jeffrey, Cecilia Chazama, Nicholas Dausi, among others held an impromptu Zoom meeting to discuss their expulsions and subsequent suspension from the party.

According to a reliable source, that confided in Maravi Post, the group has decided to seek legal redress to be reinstated to their former positions within the party.

The source, who attended the meeting, and spoke on strict anonymity revealed that the expelled members plan to file their case in the High Court of Lilongwe in the upcoming week, starting on Monday.

This legal challenge is seen as an attempt to address what the group perceives as an unfair expulsion and suspension from the party’s National Governing Council (NGC).

Throughout the meeting, the group expressed their determination to fight for their rights and ensure justice prevails.

What has further piqued the expelled members’ interest is the revelation that some agents from within Kondwani Nankhumwa’s camp have remained in the NGC without facing any disciplinary action.

The source stated that these surviving agents will play a crucial role in the expelled members’ legal battle.

Additionally, the source singled out a female agent, considered to be the most reliable, who is still actively involved with the party.

It is believed that the Kondwani Nankhumwa camp will rely heavily on her assistance during this challenging period.

The individuals who were expelled and suspended from their NGC positions, as stated by the party authorities, include Henry Matemba, Joseph Mavuto Kachali, Kondwani Ng’ong’ola, Shafee Khamisa, Brave Mkwezalamba, Mariam Chimbalanga, Dumisa Lindani, Baxter Kita, and Lameck Rajab Malimba.

Additionally, Honourable Aulad Mussa has been suspended from party membership. Ralph Pacharo Jooma has been removed from his position as the National Director of Economic Affairs in the NGC.

In response to these developments, the DPP party has called on all members to respect and abide by the resolutions made by the NGC.

The party is emphatic in its stance that any misconduct or disrespect towards the party’s leadership will not be tolerated.

The DPP warns that disciplinary action will be taken against any member found in violation of these resolutions.

Efforts to reach out to some of the former senior expelled members for comment were unsuccessful, as their phone lines were continuously busy.

This further underscores the seriousness with which they are approaching the legal battle ahead.

The DPP’s decision to expel these prominent members has sent shockwaves throughout the political landscape. These expulsions have deeply affected the individuals involved.

Expelled member Kondwani Nankhumwa, who previously served as a Presidential advisor, is widely regarded as a prominent figure within the DPP.

His expulsion has fueled speculation about the motives behind the party’s actions.

The news of the legal challenge is likely to intensify the ongoing political turmoil within the DPP.

It remains to be seen how the courts will respond to the expelled members’ petition, and whether they will be granted reinstatement to the party.

This case shines a spotlight on the internal dynamics of the DPP and raises questions about the party’s direction and leadership.

As the legal battle commences, all eyes will be on the High Court of Lilongwe, where the expelled members will seek justice and the opportunity to clear their names.

The outcome of this case has the potential to reshape the political landscape and may have far-reaching implications for the future of the DPP.

As the expelled members’ fight for justice unfolds, the nation awaits the verdict that will determine their political fate.
