BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Shame! Mr Ebony Msikaanthu is the deputy IT Director at the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) and the one who manipulated the presidential elections results by jamming the triggers of the results so that no one, including his immediate boss, could access the system, we can reveal.
Msikaanthu is ‘very’ close to MEC Chairperson Jane Ansah who is also a Justice of the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal.
We can reveal that early this year, 2019 he was tasked by Ansah and MEC Chief Elections Officer Sam Alfandika, to swing votes in favour for DPP candidate Prof Arthur Peter Mutharika in order to ensure continued DPP rule and plunder.
The young IT man promised to do what he could and got an incentive for it.
“When the tallying process had started, Mr. Msikaanthu without the knowledge of his boss, Mr Muhabi Chisi, would delete triggers from the system denying everyone access to results, including Mr Chisi.”
“The normal practice was that after verification, the regional IT officers would enter the results into the system. On two consecutive days, results sheets came for short of the expected numbers as Msikaanthu and some members were printing the sheets only for the Chairperson, CEO and himself in order to see how best to manipulate the sheets,” said our impeccable source close to the operation.
“They would then send them back to the IT officers in batches to be processed at once. Meanwhile the triggers would be on and off. Mr Chisi is not as competent in the RMS as was evident in court when he was asked to operate the system with Mr Suleman. He opted to let Mr Kadzuwa run it instead. It was admission of incompetence on his part but disguised as delegation,” he explained.
“As we publish this, Mr Chisi is now undergoing training in RMS so that he can run the system when he does his own simulation. If MEC lawyers had insisted on bringing Chisi after Suleman, Chisi would have been baking cakes instead of running the system,” explained our source.
Our investigations have revealed that Chisi is being trained by little known a Mr. Bonongwe who is one of the people that helped put the RMS in place.
