I agree with Sundu Madise, Henry Kachaje and other sober, intelligent, wise and fair minded Malawians that the government should court this billionaire prophet, Shepherd Bushiri. I heard him yesterday on Zodiak after he officially launched his mobile phone company in South Africa that he once tried to talk to the authorities to invest in Malawi but was given snow cold shoulder and pushed away.
I was surprised with how South Africans love him and went on their knees for making meaningful investment in their country.
Now, when I saw our old good professor, flatly pleading at the UN meet for investors, I thought it was a joke. His own son, Prophet Bushiri has billions of dollars to spend in investment but is waved away by some government officials and ruling party elite who have developed a sinful hatred for this young billionaire investor.
Just read stories in pro government and pro DPP online publications, you would agree with me that if it were possible, these people would have bribed God to have Bushiri dead.
As Kachaje once said, give Bushiri Escom, let him run it for five years, let him invest in it, let him turn around it and hand over the power utility company back to government after getting back his miracle money, it will be another miracle for Malawi, for sure and stories of rains, low water levels etc would be history. He is Malawian and he knows where to invest and make Malawi economy tick as were the old good days. Instead, the government and the ruling party are busy fighting him satanic battles; ‘don’t distribute relief food to starving Malawians, don’t go to army school, your supporters should not follow you because your vehicles form a convoy, you killed Grace Chinga Moffat…’ and other senseless and stupid allegations.
Bushiri, to me, is smart, intelligent, wise, and importantly, fears God. These attributes have made him very successful at that tender age. His detractors are failing to run the affairs of the country, they have pushed Malawi into untold misery and if not careful, Malawi might slide into a failed state status, a junk rating for a country whose economy growing fast, only second after Qatar according to Bingu.
Let APM come, meet Bushiri and discuss serious investment deals. For sure I know he would not invest in Malawi through corruption as some investors do, making lucrative money donations to ruling party purse or some shoddy accounts masquerading as charity run by the elite spouses.
If this fails, we Malawians have a right to know why, why is the government making it difficult for Bushiri to invest in Malawi? We are concerned with the direction our country has taken, this is a matter of grave concern to all fair minded and politically sober Malawians who love Malawi!
