LILONGWE -(MaraviPost)-The battle for points in final round of MK8.3 million Nyasa Capital Finance Cup in the Central Region started on a high note on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Ekas Freight Wanderers FC who invited Extreme FC in the first leg at Kamuzu Barracks ground lost 0-2.Despite playing well and creating a good number of scoring chances the area 25 outfit lacked composure and marksmanship hence failed to score.
However the visitors Extreme FC reorganized themselves too fast in the second half and broke the deadlock through their hitman Beston Jimu who received a beautiful ball from Emmanuel Mbwezo at 67th minute.
The Waliranji based side then dominated the play as they used their left wing accordingly though missing several scoring chances as the home team defense looked porous for easy penetration by Extreme FC. At 85th minute Emmanuel Mbwezo headed in a beautiful goal from Black.
Beston Jimu could have added another one in the dying minutes but his effort went over the bar.
The victory means Extreme FC lead the four team log table with 3 points and two goals. Kawinga FC who hosted St Gabriel Medicals FC at Maliri ground were held to a 1-1 draw.
In a post match interview, Chifuniro Chimkokomo Extreme FC, Assistant coach hailed his boys for the victory saying despite having more injuries in his squad the boys showcased beautiful football.
He then vowed to play their lungs out in the next fixtures so that they win the cup.
His counterpart, Yassin Zidana, for Ekas Freight Wanderers FC acknowledged the defeat saying his boys were punished for not using their chances they created.
Zidana said they will fix the weaknesses he spotted in the next games and start winning games.
The visitors at Maliri ground were the first to score through Maxwell Mangwere at 75th minute before the home team Kawinga FC levelled at 83rd minute through a spot kick soon after St Gabriel Medicals FC was reduced to ten men.
The victim being Samson Singano.St Gabriel Medicals FC sits on position two while Kawinga FC comes third with 1 point a piece and Ekas Freight Wanderers FC anchor the table with no point.
The team that will collect more points over others will be crowned champions of the 2022 CRFA Nyasa Capital Finance Cup as the central region football governing body have changed the cup format to a league one.
Extreme FC will be anticipated to host Kawinga FC at Waliranji ground on Wednesday 16th November, 2022 while Ekas Freight Wanderers FC travels to Namitondo in Namitete to play St Gabriel Medicals FC.
The first day has produced 4 goals,two red cards going to Sewere of Extreme FC, after he asked Referee Samson Wasili why he used abusive language on players while in a field of play.
The referee made several questionable decisions in the match.
The second red card went to Samson Singano of St Gabriel Medicals FC.
The winner of the cup will walk home with MK1.5 million while runners up will get MK600,000.Third place will get MK250,000 and fourth placed will get MK150,000.
