FAM awards club licences to Mzuni & Be forward Wanderers only; tells other club administrators to write supplementary exams

s of Mzuzu University football Club fondly known as Mzuni FC and Mighty Wanderers FC deserve a pat on their backs for a job well done after Football Association of Malawi (FAM) awarded their respective clubs “club licences.” These licences are important if a team is to participate in the country’s top flight league—the TNM super league— which is due to kick off this weekend.

In a statement, FAM said it has awarded Mzuni and Wanderers the club licenses with four other clubs been given provisional licences as their respective club administrators failed to obtain a pass mark to be awarded the license thereby condemning them (the club administrators) to re do their job—more less telling them to write an embarrassing supplementary exams—if it were at an institution of higher learning.

The FAM Club Licensing System Committee (CLS) which met on Saturday, 9th April 2016 to review the applications by clubs said there were 14 files to be considered adding that the the file for Chirumba Barracks was not considered.

The results of the review process were as follows

Green Range Clubs: Issued with Licenses-

1. Mighty Be Forward Wanderers FC – 84%

2. Mzuni FC – 73%

Yellow Range Clubs: Issued with Provisional Licenses-

1. Blue Eagles FC – 71% (issued with provisional though their score is in green range due to non-fulfillment of Sporting Criteria)

2. Nyasa Big Bullets FC – 69% (need to submit audited accounts, constitute a secretariat & have a youth development programme)

3. Silver Strikers FC – 60% (need to work fulfillment of Sporting Criteria & submission of Accounts)

4. Dwangwa United FC – 56% (Need to attend to Sporting Criteria & submission of Audited accounts) .

Red Range Clubs: Not issued with Licenses and ought to work on the documents not later than Thursday, 14th April 2016. Will be issued either provisional or full licenses upon submission of relevant docs & necessary set-ups-

1. Moyale Barracks FC – 45% ( Need to submit/work on the following; Sporting Criteria, Submission of Player Contracts, appointment of CAF B Coach, provision of audited accounts)

2. Civo United FC – 35% (Need to submit/work on the following; Sporting Criteria, Stadium Safety Certification, Submission of Players Contracts, Submission of audited accounts, Submission of Club Statutes)

3. Epac FC – 28% (Need to submit/work the following; Sporting Criteria, Infrastructure Criteria, CAF B Coaching License, Secretariat, Financial criteria)

4. Kamuzu Barracks FC – 14% (Need to submit/work on the following; Sporting Criteria, Infrastructure Criteria, Players’ contracts, CAF B License holder, Submission of audited accounts,

5. Red Lions FC – 20% (Need to submit/work on the following; Sporting Criteria, Infrastructure Criteria, Submission of Player Contracts, Financial Criteria)

6. Mafco FC – 20% (Need to submit/work on the following; Sporting Criteria, Infrastructure Criteria, Submission of players contracts, submission of audited accounts, Legal Criteria)

7. Max Bullets FC – 20% (given up to mid-season break to work on their shortfalls)

8. Azam Tigers FC – 18% (Need to work/submit on the following; Sporting Criteria, Infrastructure Criteria, Submission of players contracts, Secretariat, submission of bank account details, audited accounts, Club Constitution) .

There will be another meeting on Friday, 15th April 2016 to consider granting of licenses or provisional licenses to clubs in Red Range upon fulfillment/submission. If these teams fail to submit, they will not participate in the forthcoming TNM super league season.
