LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Central Region Football Association (CRFA) and Nyasa Capital Finance have set this coming weekend as the final week of completing games in round of 32 of the MK8.5 million CRFA Nyasa Capital Finance Cup second edition cup.
The Central Region Football governing body however anticipates a tough weekend ahead as the eight remaining teams promise to produce fierce battle since will fight in a quest to be granted Nyasa Capital Finance loans in round of 16.
The second edition of the cup started fortnight ago in the region, and has produced shocking and upsetting results as Division one sides who are playing in the cup for the first time, have managed to knock out the giants of Premier division.
Kondwani Kandiado, CRFA Public Relations Officer, said the cup has been been going on very well since the launch.
He said division one teams who have been included for the first time have produced sparkling performances with shocking results booting out premier division teams.
“The inclusion of division one teams in the cup has changed the hype of the cup and the goal of the Sponsors which is to nurture hidden talents is being achieved. The teams have ignited fire and competition has become stiff.As CRFA we anticipate a very big battle in the last games this coming weekend.
“Teams should maintain the discipline as we continue with the cup We know every team wants the money from Nyasa Capital Finance hence we say they should refrain from the violence and let football win”, said Kandiado.
This coming weekend four Chipiku Premier division teams are expected to bid farewell with the cup while the other four will make the list of round of 16 complete.
On Saturday, 15th October, 2022 St Gabriel Medicals FC host Support Battalion FC at Namitondo ground in another tough match.
Mchinji Boma Strikers FC have invited Kamuzu Barracks RSV FC at Mchinji Community ground on Sunday 16th October, 2022.Dedza Young Soccer FC will battle it out with Ngwanje FC at Malawi College of Forestry (MACOF) in Dedza District.
The other game that will draw match attention will be between Airborne Rangers FC and LUANAR FC.
The sides had successful first round of Chipiku Premier division league.
Airborne Rangers FC went 12 games undefeated in Chipiku first round while Millias Pofera Jegwe’s LUANAR finished the round on a high note scoring goals like nobody’s business.
In the second round Rangers FC have started with a loss whilst LUANAR FC drew 0-0 with Kawinga FC at Maliri ground.
Who will win these last fixtures in the preliminary round and be granted Group, Agribusiness and Education loans by Nyasa Capital Finance?
The answers of the question will be answered this coming weekend.
Nsaru United FC, Blue Eagles RSV FC, Ekas Freight Wanderers FC, Kawinga FC, Simbi FC, Dickson United,Wimbe United FC, Extreme FC, Green Rangers FC, Villa FC,Santhe ADMARC FC and Zaithwa FC have already qualified to the round of 16.
Silver Strikers Reserve FC the defending champions are out of the competition after they suffered a 4-2 defeat through post match penalties after regulation time ended 1-1 against Zaithwa FC.
Other teams who have failed to obtain loans from Nyasa Capital Finance including Ngolowindo FC, Shamma FC, Mtengenji Monaco FC, Kasungu Police FC, Amboya FC, Play Football Malawi, Mkanda Youth FC, Dwangwa United, Panthers FC, Mitundu Strikers FC and Nsaru United FC.
