This year’s M-Net reality show, Big Brother Africa which was scheduled to kick off this Sunday, September 7 in South Africa has been postponed after a fire outbreak in the BBA House.
M-Net and Endemol SA announced Tuesday that due to a devastating fire at the Big
Brother house on 2 September 2014, Big Brother Hotshots will not launch this Sunday as scheduled.
The fire has mainly destroyed BBA House’s studio including technical infrastructure.
“The cause of the fire at this stage is unknown and investigations will commence as soon as it is safe to do so.
“At the moment M-Net and Endemol are looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production, however as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements an alternative is not immediately available,” the statement reads.
The Big Brother house is said to be based at the Sesani Studios in Johannesburg and usually brings together 14 house mates from 12 countries including Malawi.
