BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Malawi national team coach Ronny Van Geneugden, has released a 20-man strong squad to face Madagascar in the first leg of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) away game on 22 April.
Absent on the list of players going to Madagascar, are Wanderers amulets Isaac Kaliyati, and Mike Kaziputa who failed to impress the new expatriate Flames head coach Geneugden. The two were in top-form last season, and they helped their team to grab prestigious football trophies.
Kamuzu Barracks twin strikers, Kelvin Hanganda and Manase Chiyesa, have all made it and they will form the Flames’ striking force together with Bullets’ Muhammad Sulumba.
Peter Wadabwa, Robin Ngalande and Miracle Gabeya have all been left out of the squad due to injuries.

Goalkeepers: Ernest Kakhobwe, Brighton Munthali, and Leman Nthala.
Defenders: Yamikani Fodya, John Lanjesi, Lucky Malata, Pempho Kansichiri, Francis Mulimbika, and Stanley Sanudi.
Midfielders: Dalitso Sayilesi, Dave Banda, Chimango Kayira, Singa Maganizo, Levison Maganizo, Harvey Nkacha, Yamikani Chester, and Gilbert Chirwa.
Strikers: Muhammad Sulumba, Kelvin Hanganda, and Manase Chiyesa.
Head Coach: Ronny Van Geneugden.
First Assistant Coach: Gerald Phiri Snr.
Second Assistant Coach: Deklerk Msakakuona.
Team Manager: Peter Mponda.
Goalkeeper’s Trainer: Phillip Nyasulu.
Team Doctor: Levison Mwale.
The team leaves for Antananarivo on Sunday via Kenya, where they will play a strength-testing match against Kenya’s Harambe Stars.
