LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Football Legends Association (FLA) has revealed that its skills development initiative, conducted in collaboration with Ebenezer Investments and Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu, is progressing well and expected to yield positive results soon.
The initiative, which began this year, aims to equip former football players with new skills in screen printing, embroidery, and entrepreneurship, with ten players currently undergoing a one-month training program.
The total budget for the initiative is MK22 million, with FLA contributing MK12 million.

FLA Board member Khumbo Phiri expressed confidence that the legends will acquire gainful employment or start their own businesses, as they will be provided with starter kits upon completion.
The initiative aims to empower the legends to improve their livelihoods through income generation from the skills gained, and also impart their knowledge to others.
Phiri added that several companies have pledged support to increase the number of former players benefiting from the initiative.
A second cohort is expected to start training between March and April, following the completion of the first group.
The training is currently taking place at Ebenezer Investments offices in Area 6, Lilongwe.
