Former Bullets FC Godfrey Masonda set to return to pitch after serious heart illness scare

Former Bullets FC Godfrey Masonda is set to revive his career after overcoming a leaky heart valve illness.

Masonda is set to revive his career at Super League rookies and the team’s Technical Director Peter Mponda has confirmed that the ace striker would be given a platform to revive his career.

 

“We are not going to rush into the thick of things but we are definitely going to sign him,” Mponda said.

“He is a naturally gifted strikers. All he needs is a bit of time to regain full fitness having been out of competitive football for sometime.”

Masonda, 25, who was treated at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg in South Africa said he is ready to return to top league action.
“I have fully recovered and I am good health. I relaunched my career at my home side Nthisi Wanderers who play in the Chipiki Central Region Premier Division,” Masonda said.

“He also trained with Blue Eagles. All is well with me and it’s about time I engaged an extra gear.”

He applauded Surestream for giving a chance to join the team.

“I am happy that Surestream have given me a chance. After a careful consideration I felt Surestream was the right club for to rejuvenate my career in the top league,” he said.

The diminutive striker also saluted Bullets, musician Limbani Kalirani popularly known as Tay Grin in showbiz and many others who contributed towards his heart treatment.

“Let me know that they will always have a special place in my heart,” he said.
Masonda was once a key strikers partnering South Africa based Gabdinho Mhango in 2012 before moving to Mozambique Club Ferroviario de Nacala.
