BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Police Service in Neno are keeping in custody former Primary Education Advisor (PEA) Betino Mpapa aged 61-years-old for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a female child aged 16-years and impregnating her.

Neno police publicist Austin Kamwendo confirmed the arrest stating that the PEA adopted the child for support.

“The suspect later started inciting her her into sexual acts by giving her money when his wife was not around and provided her with a cellphone for secret communication.

“Child also revealed that she was defiled from February to April this year without protection claims collaborated by a medical report from Neno district hospital which further shows the girl is pregnant,” says Kamwendo.

The suspect comes from Donda village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Chekucheku in the district and is expected to appear before court.
