
(MaraviPost): Ghana’s government has said security agencies have been able to foil an attempt to topple the presidency. It said an operation by security agencies led to the discovery of what is believed to be a weapons manufacturing factory.
The operation and subsequent arrest of suspects took place at a suburb of Ghana’s capital of Accra called In a statement the government said the said weapon factory was located in a building which operates as a medical facility known as Citadel Hospital.
Personnel from Ghana’s Defence Intelligence, Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service and Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) raided the facility where a cache of newly manufactured assault rifles and explosives were retrieved.

Sources within Ghana’s security agencies say the operation was based on intelligence which led to surveillance of the facility prior to the raid which took place last week Friday.
Medical Director and owner of the hospital, Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm and his two accomplices – Mr. Ezor Kafui (a local weapon manufacturer) and Mr. Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu (aka BB or ADC) were arrested during the raid.
