Indian man offers his tongue as sacrifice to protect others from contracting Coronavirus

NEW DELHI-(MaraviPost)-A 24-year-old man in India has cut his tongue off and offered it as a sacrifice to a “deity god” to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

The man who was identified as Vivek Sharma reportedly became anxious about the spread of the killer virus and turned to his tongue as a sacrifice to protect others from contracting the deadly virus.

Report by Mirror News has revealed that Sharma left his work place, Bhavani temple on Saturday morning saying he was going to the market, but did not return.

When his brother tried to reach out to him, his phone was picked by a stranger who explained what happened as he was unconscious.

When police arrived at the scene, he was still unconscious and they called doctors who tried to reattach his tongue.

Sharma has been employed as a stone cutter alongside eight others working at the Bhavani Mata temple in Suigam and he was described by his colleagues as ardent devotee of Kali Mata.

India has 21,797 confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus with 686 reported deaths as of April 23, 2020.
