Insights into Chipiku League’ second round, week four

Kamuzu Barracks RSV and Mbabvi United battling for points at Lilongwe Community

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The battle for the points in Central Region Football Association MK15.5 million Chipiku Premier Division League continued weekend with full of exciting fixtures to people’s disposal.

The games however produced joy and sorrows to other teams as others ascended and descended on the log tables in week four.

Week number four has registered 14 goals from 6 games in groups A and B.Two games ended in a draw.

Support Battalion FC who were playing at home in Mvera twice came from behind against LUANAR FC to force a 2-2 draw,Innocent Makawano scored a brace for the visitors while Lumbani Mkandawire and Eric Mbite scored for the home team.

Ngwanje FC failed to utilize home ground advantage as they were held to 1-1 draw by Kamuzu Barracks RSV,Zinjani Yona scored for the Soldiers.

Four games registered victories as Airborne Rangers FC suffered yet another defeat in the second round at home 1-2 against Mbabvi United FC, Austin Mvula and Figo Chilindiza scored for the visitors.

Kawinga FC suffered a 0-1 defeat in the hands of 2021 runners up Extreme FC courtesy of Beston Jimu’s goal.

Wimbe United FC humbled Silver Strikers Reserve FC 1-0 at home in Kasungu,Green Bimphi scored the lone goal.

Sorrows and pain are not sparing the Mchinji based side Villa FC in the league as they suffered a third loss in a row to St Gabriel Medicals FC 2-1 at Namitondo ground.Maxwell Mangwere and Ernest Salani were on target for the home team while Dominic Phiri scored the consolation goal for struggling Villa FC.

So far 38 goals have been scored in four weeks of the Chipiku Premier Division League second round from 38 games.

St Gabriel Medicals FC are leading group A with better goal difference after tied on points with Wimbe United FC 7.Mbabvi United FC are on third place with 5 points.

The Flying Lions Airborne Rangers FC who were on fire in the first round are on position 4 with 3 points as things seem to turn around for the Parachute battalion.

Silver Strikers RSV FC are on position 5 with 3 points, anchoring the group are Villa FC who are yet to win the match in round two.

2021 runners up Extreme FC are topping group B with 6 points from 3 games seconded by LUANAR FC who are tied on 5 points with Kamuzu Barracks FC who are on third position due to goals inferiority.

Support Battalion FC are fourth in group B with 4 points,Kawinga FC are sitting on position 5 with 2 points and Ntchisi based side Ngwanje FC sits on position 6 with 1 point.

The top three teams from the two groups will qualify to the final round of the league. They will be anticipated to play each other home and away.

The top team will be crowned champions and qualify to the TNM Superleague.
