Former Civo United striker Jabulani Linje’s agent has hit back at the club over the allegations that he duped the club of K800,000 in signing on fee before joining Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.
His agent questioned Civo’s claims saying the club could have blocked his move.
“He bade farewell to the team and they never said anything to that Jabulani owes them K800,000 as signing on fee,” he said.
“What is surprising is that we don’t even know where and how they offered Jabu the signing on fee.”
He also hit at Super League of Malawi for consenting to Civo to seek judicial intervention before investigating the matter thoroughly.
The development comes in the wake of Civo United’s threats to sue the player over the alleged money.
“What I don’t understand is that SULOM rushed to offer Civo the greenlight to take the matter to court before hearing our side of the story,” he said.
“They should have first of all investigated the matter and then after failing to resolve the matter they could have considered to take the matter to court.”
Jabulani joined Linje amid Civo’s concern over the player’s alleged duping.
