LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Veteran political strategist and commentator, Ken Msonda, has revealed that he does not actively join political parties, but rather, it is political parties that approach him for assistance.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Timveni Radio, Msonda emphasized that he has never gone out of his way to align himself with any political organization.
He explained that over the years, various political parties have recognized his expertise and influence, leading them to seek his help on strategic matters.
According to Msonda, his contribution to Malawi’s political landscape is rooted in his commitment to national development and not blind party loyalty.
He stated that his role has often been misunderstood by the public, with many assuming he “jumps” from one party to another.
Msonda clarified that he offers support to political entities based on principle, national interest, and the needs of the time — not personal gain or ambition.
He further highlighted that his political advice is often behind the scenes, as he prefers to work in the background rather than seek the spotlight.
The outspoken political analyst said he believes in offering guidance where it’s needed, especially when a party is at a crossroads or in need of revival.
Msonda’s remarks come at a time when the country is witnessing increased political realignments ahead of the September 2025 general elections.
When asked if he would support or advise any party in the current political climate, Msonda remained open-ended, saying he will offer help where his values and the national interest align.
He called on Malawians to focus more on issue-based politics rather than individuals and personalities.
Msonda concluded by stating that his loyalty lies with Malawi, and that he will always be ready to assist any political formation that puts the nation first.
