Kenyan father strangles two children before setting them ablaze

MOMBASA (MaraviPost)-Kenyan Police in Mombasa have launched a manhunt for father who allegedly strangled his two children before setting their bodies on fire.

Mombasa County police commander Stephen Matu confirmed the news adding that the incident happened after a series of disagreements with the mother of the kids.

The suspect, Jason Chacha, 55, reportedly killed the two minors aged 4 and 8 on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 2 am and escaped.

According the Star, the suspect an the other of the victims had been married for over a decade and on the night before the gruesome act, Chacha allegedly threatened Maria Boke, that he would kill her if he dared to leave the house.

Boke said on Friday, the suspect badly bruised her and she left the house to go and seek refuge at her friend’s place after before receiving the call that her children were discovered dead.

“When he told me to leave the house I did not know his intentions. I went to sleep at my friend’s house only to receive a call at 7 am informing me that my children have died and they are in the mortuary, something I did not believe until I went to confirm,” she Boke.

Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for the suspect who has since gone into hiding and the bodies of the two minors are being preserved at the coast general hospital, awaiting postmortem.
