Khitchini Hub partners with Mibawa TV to boost Lilongwe’s creative scenery

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Khitchini Hub, a popular restaurant and event space in Lilongwe, has partnered with Mibawa Television to turn the city centre into a vibrant creative hotspot.

The partnership will kick off on July 11 with a live show at Khitchini Hub featuring artists Ketura and Ted Makaladi.

The two brands will work together to host live music, talk shows, business pitches, and creative showcases from the venue.

Khitchini Hub Director Thoko Kaunda said the space aims to bring together creatives, entrepreneurs, and youth for collaboration and innovation.

“Khitchini Hub is more than a food and beverage spot it’s a centre of creativity, innovation, and enterprise. This partnership with Mibawa allows us to bring artists, entrepreneurs, and thinkers together under one roof to share ideas, collaborate, and spark meaningful change,” said Kaunda.

He added that the initiative will specifically target Lilongwe’s growing urban youth market, offering not just entertainment but a space for storytelling, collaboration, and professional networking.

Mibawa TV General Manager Tamandani Nkhwimba said the move will help bring television closer to the people by producing live, locally inspired content from the heart of the city.

“It’s time for television to move beyond the confines of studio walls and meet audiences where they are. This collaboration allows us to co-create with the public and bring content to life—be it live music, business pitches, spoken word, or topical discussions, all hosted right at Khitchini Hub,” Nkhwimba said.

He further disclosed that Mibawa Television will use the partnership to test innovative, people-driven content formats rooted in local experiences and culture.

The venue will double as a live production studio for Mibawa’s upcoming programming, with plans to feature weekend night shows and other interactive broadcasts, giving audiences at home and on-site real-time content and entertainment.

The collaboration will also include mentorship talks, product launches, and exhibitions, all aimed at promoting Malawian talent and community engagement.
