Lack of national pride as Malawi Police proudly display website funded and controlled by UNICEF

As we celebrate our 51st Independence day on July 6th this year it is sad and embarrassing that the Mutharika Government cannot run its own Police Department. The Malawi Police forces have a website which is controlled and run by UNICEF. The Malawi Police website displays proudly a UNICEF LOGO with the Banner ‘Developed with support from UNICEF’. The colors and template of the website itself are those of the United Nations and do not match or resemble Malawi Police.

UNICEF was established on 11 December 1946 by the United Nations to meet the emergency needs of children in post-war Europe and China. Its full name was the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund.

I am not sure how we can claim to be independent when we cannot fund our own Police Forces. The question is who is making decisions and running the Malawi Police. Is it the United Nations which gets Majority of its funding from USA and European Union?

Who does Inspector General Lexten S. Kachama answer to? Does he answer to President Peter Mutharika and The Malawi tax payers or is he a tool of the United nations forced to enforce United nations laws on Malawians?, like their beliefs on homo-sexuality which they are trying to impose on Africans?

If after 51 years we cannot fund our own Police department what is there to celebrate?
