Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president, Dr Lazarus Chakwera says Malawi’s transformation growth is possible if its leaders run affairs of government in an honest and integrity way.
The MCP President who is also the leader of opposition in Malawi’s parliament told the news conference in Lilongwe on Sunday on arrival from Global Business Round Table congress held in South Africa from March 10-14.
The congress drew participants from Africa, Europe and America comprised of politicians, banks, youths, aimed at finding ways to foster trade and business for nations’ economic growth.
Dr Chakwera says the congress was an opportunity for African countries including Malawi to learn how best knowledge tapped from developed nations could be utilized to enhence social-economic growth.
“Malawi’s transformation growth can happen if doing business and trade is done in an honest, trasparent and integrity way as we have enough resources to move this nation forward. But the problem rises in the leadership as there is no political will to turn things around for better “, says MCP leader.
Dr Chakwera appealed for oneness in runig government that all developmental players must be taken on board as the way strengthening efforts for the nation’s development agendas.
“This nation requires leaders who can accommodate all developmental players in runing government affairs. Thus, I urge the leadership of this government to take such an idea on board”, urges Dr Chakwera.
