
LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Lilongwe Chief resident Magistrate Violet Chipao on Thursday after granted bail to Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) leaders Timothy Mtambo, Gift Trapence and MacDonald Sembereka.
Magistrate Chipao observed that the state failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt why the accused should not be given bail.
However the magistrate gave the bail to the trio Mtambo, Sembereka and Trapence on condition that they pay MK200,000 surety and provide MK2 million as non-cash bond.
The court has also ordered the three also not commit any offence , not interfere with state investigations, surrender their travelling documents among others.
HRDC leaders were arrested for being suspected to man hunt the state after their last week press conference announcing that will seal state house to force President Peter Mutharika to sign electoral bills ahead of fresh presidential election in May this year.
