LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has embarked on visits to Super League teams across the country as part of the 2020 Club Licensing process.
A delegation comprising of FAM Competitions Director Gomezgani Zakazaka, Club Licensing and Compliance Manager Casper Jangale and Super League of Malawi Head of Secretariat Patrick Chisale are visiting clubs to ensure that are putting things in order ahead of their Club Licensing Application submissions next month.
The team is also visiting Stadia to ensure they are in good shape ahead of the new season.
On top of that, FAM is training the club officials on Mpira Connect, an online stakeholder registration platform and the Domestic Transfer Match System which are now mandatory from the 2020 season.
Jangale said the visits are a follow up to the Club Licensing Seminar which FAM organised for Clubs last month and aim at helping clubs fulfill the Licensing obligations.
“During the seminar we enlightened the clubs on the requirements for Club licensing in 2020. We are now visiting to see if they are doing things right before submitting their applications for assessment on 1st March.
“But again Mpira Connect and DTMS are now mandatory and all player registrations and transfer transactions have to go through these systems that is why we are training them,” said Jangale.
The programme started at MAFCO FC in Salima on Friday and on Sunday FAM met Karonga United and Chitipa United in Karonga.
On Monday the team is expected to inspect Chitipa Community Ground and Karonga Stadium while on Tuesday the delegation will inspect Rumphi Stadium before visiting Ekwendeni and Mzuzu Warriors.
The following day, the team will visit to Moyale Barracks, inspection of Mzuzu Stadium and Connect and DTMs training for the Mzuzu based teams.
A coording to FAM, Kasungu Stadium and TN Stars will be inspected and visited on Thursday respectively to be followed by visits to Nankhaka Stadium and Blue Eagles on the same day.
While on Friday, the delegation will visit Silver Strikers, Kamuzu Barracks and Civo FC with Connect and DTMS training for the four teams on Saturday.
The programme will continue in the Southern Region next week.
