LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The long-awaited prize presentation for the Central Region Football Association (FAM) MOTO division one league has taken place today at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
Mitundu Baptist has been finally crowned champions and went home with MK2 million, medals, and trophies while Chisomo Academy from Kasungu Municipality received MK1.5 million for being runners-up.
Chatoloma ADMARC received MK1 million for finishing third in the league and Green Rangers pocketed K750,000 for finishing fourth.
Mitundu Baptist, Chisomo Academy, and Chatoloma ADMARC earned a promotion into the MK19.8 Chipiku Stores Premier Division League in the 2024-2025 season.
The team manager for Mitundu Baptist Alex Chimwenje was delighted to finally be crowned champions of the FAM MOTO division one.
“It was a difficult journey but we endured and here we are now in the Premier division. We will keep on working hard so that next season we play in the Super League. The old teams in the league must anticipate a tough time when meeting us”, Chimwenje eluded.
The Central Region Football Association general secretary Antonio Manda, hailed FAM for coming up with the prize money for the teams.
Mitundu Baptist won the championship with 47 points from 22 games, while Chisomo Academy was second with 46 points from the same number of games, and Chatoloma accumulated 43 points from 22 games.
The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) sponsored the regional division one league to the tune of K15 million each.
