The Malawi Government has imposed Visa requirements to many European countries and the United States.

Social Media personality Onjezani Kenani writes:

If a country requires us to obtain a visa to enter, they too must require a visa to enter ours. I always hear, “Oh, but that will negatively impact our tourism,” but no one has shared granular data, or indeed any data at all, showing that Americans and the British or citizens of the European Union came to Malawi in droves when their entry here was visa-free.  Thank you, Malawi government, for upholding the principle of reciprocity. Let us grant visa-free status only to those countries that give us a visa-free status

The government of Malawi is a unitary presidential republic with three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial, operating under a multi-party system with a constitution established in 1995. The President serves as both Head of State and Government, leading the executive branch, while the unicameral National Assembly forms the legislative body, and the judiciary ensures independence. The government manages national and local affairs, focusing on policy implementation, lawmaking, and public services like education and health.
