Malawi Govt deports Rwandan warlord Vincent Njondanyo Kanyoni

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Government in the early hours of Monday, June 12, 2023 deported Vincent Njondanyo Kanyoni, 53, a Rwandan wanted in his home country.

The plane carrying Kanyoni left KIA around 1 a.m.

Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, confirmed the deportation of Kanyoni to Rwanda.

“I can confirm we have deported and declared him as undesirable immigrant at 1am and he has landed in Kigali this morning with Rwandan law enforcement officials waiting for him, “he said.

Spokesperson and head of government communications in Rwanda, Yolande Makolo‎, also confirmed the development with Daily Times.

“Rwanda Prosecution has indeed arrested the fugitive after being deported from Malawi today,” Makolo said.

The Rwandan is said to have declared to local authorities that he was Burundian and managed to get a Malawian passport illegally.

Since last month, Malawi government has intensified refugees and asylum seekers relocation from the country’s towns, cities to Dzaleka refugees camp.
