BLANTYRE-(MaraviPos)-Deputy Director of HIV and Viral Hepatitis Directorate in the Ministry of Health Rabson Kachala says the government is committed to ending the spread of HIV/AIDS in the country by 2030.
Kachala made the statement on Friday during the commemoration of World AIDS Day and International AIDS Candlelight Memorial in Lilongwe.

He highlighted notable progress in reducing HIV/AIDS prevalence in the country, citing estimates that put national prevalence at 4.7% and 9.4% in Lilongwe City Council.
On his part,UNAIDS Country Director, David Chipanta, emphasized that increased government investment can help achieve the goal of ending HIV/AIDS transmission by 2030.
The commemoration, organized by Lilongwe City Council(LCC) and Lilongwe District Council(LDC), took the theme ‘Take the right paths, together we remember, together we end AIDS.’
