Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City Centre David Bisnowaty has appealed to well-wishers to assist in whatever form in order to lessen problems which area 18 vendors are going through, following the burning of area 18 market.
Bisnowaty was speaking in Lilongwe when he visited the market together with workers from Lilongwe City Council.
During the visit the Parliamentarian who was given a hero’s welcome urged companies and individuals to come and assist so that the vendors can start living a normal life as well.
“These vendors have lost everything and yet they have families to take care of. They are supposed to pay school fees from their businesses but now here we are seeing almost ashes all over, ”
Said Bisnowaty its very painful to order the merchandise and loose them like that and yet one hoped to make profit.
“That is why we have been joined by the workers from Lilongwe City Council so that we can clean the debris ready for reconstruction of the market.”
During the visit Bisnowaty handed over some cash to the vendors just for a start up.
