LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to be vaccinated on Covid-19 on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda discloses that President will get the vaccine Chakwera at Zomba Field Hospital while Vice President Saulos Chilima is to be vaccinated in Mzuzu on the same day.
Kandodo added that teachers and pastors will also receive the same vaccine, AstraZeneca, which she says has proved to be safe.
Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Malawi on Friday, March 5, 2021 through Kamuzu International Airport in the capital Lilongwe.
About 20% of Malawi’s population is expected to be vaccinated in the first consignment.
