MANGOCHI-(MaraviPost)-Malawi President Peter Mutharika and First Lady Gertrude Mutharika is appealing for deep spiritual reflections during the festive season for God’s mercies.
The First couple through the statement signed by its Press Secretary, Mgeme Kalirani and made available to The Maravi Post that Malawians will use this moment to reflect deeply on their spiritual life.
They also urge Malawians to emulate the character of Jesus Christ to strengthen their spiritual standing and promote good citizenship to our nation.

2018 CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM HIS EXCELLENCY PROFESSOR ARTHUR PETER MUTHARIKA AND THE FIRST LADY PROFESSOR GERTRUDE MUTHARIKA
His Excellency President Professor Peter Mutharika and the First Lady Madame Professor Gertrude Mutharika extend their best wishes to all Malawians as they celebrate Christmas.
The President and the First Lady join all Christians around the world as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
The First Couple hope that Malawians will use this moment to reflect deeply on their spiritual life.
They also urge Malawians to emulate the character of Jesus Christ to strengthen their spiritual standing and promote good citizenship to our nation.
The President and the First Lady ask Malawians to use this occasion to promote love, peace, unity, humility and tolerance for one another just as Jesus did while on earth.
The First Family further extends their best wishes and prayers to those who are unable to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ due to unfortunate circumstances.
President Mutharika and Madame Mutharika ask all Malawians to show a spirit of sacrifice and pray for the less fortunate Malawians who are unable to celebrate with all of us.
Let us also use this occasion to pray for continued prosperity in our country.
Finally, the President and the First Lady advise Malawians to exercise caution and responsibility to avoid loss of lives during the festive season.
