
LILONGWE-(MaraviPost-President Peter Mutharika Sunday condemned musician called Mesho for producing a song that demeans Islam religion.
President Mutharika told the whistle stop tour at Area 24 in the capital Lilongwe that the artist’s behaviour must not be entertained.
Mesho, the artist behind disturbing songs perpetrating violence among religious and ethnic groups was on Saturday arrested in Mulanje by the Malawi police.
National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera confirmed the arrested of Mesho at Mathambi trading centre in Mulanje whose full names is Anderson Alfred Chipwaila.
The artist follow the police and Muslim community man hunt for a week.
In the track which is seven minute and 26 second long, the singer calls for the elimination of mosques from Malawian land so that people should be able to consume pork, a meat which is deemed as unclean among the Muslim community.
The singer has also attacked Christianity in which he lobbies for the removal of Seventh Day churches so that people can freely eat Mlamba (catfish) which is also unclean among the Seventh Day congregants.
The track which was released in 2018 also brought anger among Malawians and the artist was arrested for the disturbing track.
The suspect Chipwaila (Mesho) 29, hails from Binali village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Nkanda in Mulanje district.
