Malawi has reported additional 17 cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
The Minister of Health Jappie Mhango announced this on Monday May 25 in Mzuzu.
According to Mhango, out of the 17 confirmed cases, 13 patients are Malawians who recently returned from Zimbabwe, 3 are truck drivers and one is a business man from Karonga District in the northern region of the country.
Mhango said healthcare workers are tracing all the contacts of the 17 cases so that they can also be followed up and tested and all 64 active cases are still under management by the health system.
This brings the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Malawi to 101 with 4 recorded deaths due to the novel coronavirus.
