Members of the Seattle Association and Malawians in Northwest, Washington, Oregon and parts of California are being informed that the Embassy of Republic of Malawi in Washington DC in a letter dated February 2, 2015 has informed the Association that Mr. Lamya, the Consular Officer, will travel to Seattle before the end of March this year to carry out the passport renewal exercise.
Jaster Nyasalu the secretary of MSA would like those needing passport services to start preparing as they wait for the schedule from the DC Based Malawi Embassy officers. The passports are not cheap and two years ago they were at a hefty $200 plus $65.00 postage FEE
Jaster however thought in an email sent to The Maravi Post that this is a great opportunity for those in need of renewing their passports without having to spend more to travel to DC. And it was his hope that those in need will take advantage of this service from the Embassy to renew their passports.
Those that are on the Association email list will be provided the full schedule as soon as it comes available
Meantime if you have questions, send them directly to his email at jasternyasulu@yahoo.com. Or simply text him at 425-444-6581.

Just this week end the Association members were consoling Patricia Galaffa at her home in Seattle after she recently lost her Father Back at home
While the Association is known for its serious objectives in support of the community, The Maravi Post can attest that when it comes to party the boys and girls in Seattle know how to do it in style.
The association would like to encourage those that are visiting Seattle or are planning to settle in Seattle to contact the secretary at the contact information provided. More information can also be garnered on their website http://www.malawiseattleassociation.org/
