LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi National Council for Sports (MNSC) in the central region has equipped general secretaries of different Sports codes with governance skills and knowledge.
In a training which drew over 15 general Secretaries of different Sports Codes together at Kamuzu Institute of Sports in the capital Lilongwe.

The council under Central region office trained the participants on how they can manage their associations, to identify what gaps are there amongst themselves when they execute duties, how to organize sports events and how to mobilize funds for the running of the sports among other things.
Wiza Msowoya, Sport development officer at MNSC Central region, who facilitated the training, was delighted with the way the participants behaved and welcomed the course.
He said as sports council expect to see changes on how the associations run affairs of different disciplines following the course.
“We organized this course for the general secretaries after noticing gaps on how these Associations run their affairs hence called these GS’s to undergo this as they are a hub in any office in as far as sports management is concerned.
“It has been a good process within these five days and we believe the participants have grasped materials which will help them run their affairs successfully. As Sports Council in the region we will be paying a visit to the Association to monitor and evaluate how they will be working”, Msowoya said.
One of the participants, General Secretary for Women’s Football in the central region, Bertha Kawanga hailed Sports Council for the course saying it has helped her opening her eyes on how to manage the sport.
She added that as she return to her association a lot will be changed as she is going to brief the entire committee on the topics tackled.
The training started on Monday May 30, and closed on Friday, June 3, 2022.General Secretaries from Malawi Boxing Association (MABA)Handball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Women’s football just to mention but a few participated in the course.
