KASUNGU-(MaraviPost)-The Second Grade Magistrate’s Court sitting at Matenje in Kasungu District, has ordered Fresher Hara, to pay a fine of K2.8 million after being found guilty of committing adultery with another man’s wife.
Hara was reportedly found engaging in a sexual relationship with Vincent Bosi Phiri’s wife early last month (February) in the area of Traditional Authority Chulu, an act which led to the breakdown of the couple’s marriage.
According to Second Grade Magistrate David Mumbuwa, Hara was found guilty of interfering with a lawful marriage and ordered to pay K1 million immediately, with the remaining balance to be settled in monthly installments of K180,000 over ten months.
The court has also found the wife guilty of adultery and ordered her to pay K300,000 as compensation to her husband, Phiri.
In addition, the court has dissolved the marriage between Phiri and the wife following a request by Phiri.
This is rarely case of the kind in Malawi.
