BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-As Christmas, the annual festival season that is done in commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ is just hours away, people are immersed in various activities in preparation for this day.

After one hectic year of hard work and persistence, people in most parts of the world are set to celebrate this festival.

In the commercial and industrial capital of Malawi, Blantyre city, today has been one of the busiest days for most people.

While some were busy shopping, some saw the opportunity of using this day to spread the gospel in the streets to remind people what the birth of Jesus Christ mean to humankind.

According to Loveness Chinumba, a business lady in Blantyre market, Christmas is one of those days in a year that she embraces all her hard work and treat herself to a better home cooked meal with her family.

“I have been saving my profits this year in preparation for this day. After attending a church service tomorrow morning, I think being around my family the whole day will not only make my day complete but also exciting,” she said.

She added that during this festival , most are careless and they barely remember the responsibility they have.

She therefore advised her fellow Malawians to be extra careful wherever they’ll be celebrating this day but also to avoid overspend over unnecessary things.

“I will go to church first thing tomorrow morning but soon after church I will rush back here and do business. I am a father and I have responsibilities, if I sit back and relax on this day It might affect some of plans,” he said.
