Malawi’s Ctech systems launches tourism website

LILONGWE (MaraPost)—In a bid to promote tourism in the country, Ctech Systems, one of the leading ICT Providing service companies in the country has launched a website to help tourists easily access information on the so many tourist attraction places in the country.

“After we saw that there is gap in the tourism industry mainly a reliable information resource, we thought of developing a website that will be an information repository for Malawi on tourism.

Giantplus Malawi www.giantplusmalawi.com has all the main tourism sections that Malawi needs like accommodation, flights, events, places of attraction, restaurants, car rentals, tickets ,travel agents and many more,” in part reads a statement released by Company’s Chief Techinical Officer (CTO).

According to the officer, it is not the listings that matter for Giantplus Malawi website but how the information has been presented and how it can be accessed.

“On accommodation, there are listings of places where you can book online and you have a clear view of the directions of where you are going, contacts as well as how it looks,” said the manager.

Despite accessing the information on the website, the manager also disclosed that information can also be accessed via SMS services.

“We want to make sure that people access and do what they want on the platform for example if you want to visit a lodge in Mzuzu, you should be able to see how it looks, know the directions, prices, book online and many others.

“This is beneficial to the owners of the places as well as the general public, said the Officer adding that “we hope to give the international community what they want and what they have been expecting.”

On the other hand, the manager said that  people will have the ability to submit their listing or access listing using SMS as well just by sending the location they are going and feedback will be instantly sent via SMS on the hotline (+265 881 746 976) that is on the website.

“It’s Simple to use search by destination or place and it works. For example luwinga, you will have listings in Luwinga and Mzuzu, find by category as well like Blantyre Restaurants or via the menus, We are still working on making it very simple and user friendly. Our aim to make sure we have all the tourism facilities in Malawi on giantplusmalawi from Nsanje to chitipa.

The website has features that make it convenient for people to access information easily as well as submit.  It has google maps to track where one is going or where one wants to be.

The Officer finally disclosed that currently, the system has 400 listings but they are still working to increase them saying all the services people will access is totally free.
