Malawi’s Dzaleka Youth donates Covid-19 safety materials to community

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)- Dzaleka Youth Organization (DYCO), a Dzaleka Refugee Camp based in Dowa donated coronavirus pandemic safety materials to Dzaleka Refugee Camp community.

The materials included face masks, gloves, and others whereby 150 people benefited from the donation including the models.

However, this was done as one way of sharing messages on Covid-19 to the community on how they can avoid living in a crowed place in the camp.

In an interview with, DYCO General Secretary, Boniface Balenga said as they are on awareness campaign on covid-19 in the community themed “Don’t-Go-Viral” his pleased with the positive response from the community.

“I personally appreciate how Dzaleka residents follow the instructions on preventing the disease because I have seen some places at Dzaleka there water and soap and people to wash their hands everywhere.

“Let’s join hands together to support Dzaleka youth congress fight against this disease to save lives,” Balenga said.

He further thanked the local health center for their support on providing masks and gloves as well as to award winning Roy View for his love and passion for Dzaleka community, the government and models.

One of the beneficiaries, Shemsa Mossi commended Dzaleka Youth Congress for the donations saying public resources are always not enough to support the community needs in the covid-19 pandemic.

The awareness campaign was spiced up with drama’s titled ‘Ingabona Zene’ meaning ‘You will see me’ accompanied by DYCO models and their leaders.
