Malawi’s Kasungu North lawmaker Mike Bango pledges to construct stadium

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Legislator for Kasungu North Mike Bango plans to construct playing ground in his area with an aim of nurturing more hidden talents from his area.

Bango said this on Sunday at Nkhamenya Boys Secondary School ground in Kasungu when Nkhamenya Bullets met Chisemphere United in a MK5 million Football League which the honorable is Sponsoring in the area.Nkhamenya Bullets won the championship after defeating Chisemphere United by a goal to nil, the lone goal scored by Asseni Chirwa in the first half.

“This league will be continuous in this area so that we nurture more talents. The only thing which hurts me most is that the area doesn’t have a beautiful pitch where the boys can be showcasing their skills hence begging the Chief to give us a piece of land in which together with my councilors we can construct a min stadium.

“The league has been a major tool which has reduced bad behaviors among the youths such as excessive drinking of beer,theft and many more”, Bango explained.

Seventy six teams which were from eight zones participated in the just ended league,two top teams from each zone qualified to the last sixteen.

The last sixteen teams received set of Jerseys and all the 76 teams received playing balls.

League Coordinator, Obvious Banda, said it was a good league in which they have identified the hidden talents though there were few challenges.

The league started on May 15, 2021 and has ran for seven months.
