MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Normal duties have been disrupted on Thursday morning, April 16, 2020 in Mzuzu the green City of Malawi following vendors decision to hold anti-lockdown demos.

President Peter Mutharika announced the 21 days lockdown on Tuesday night as a measure of preventing Covid-19.

However, the Mzuzu vendors said they will continue with their daily businesses.

The irate vendors told Maravi Post that they are ready to shade their blood on the matter.

According to them, government should tell them where they will get their daily food to save the lives of their families during the said 21 days.

To them, it is better they die with hunger than Covid-19 prevention measures.

The vendors have since closed their shops while chanting anti-government songs.

Police are yet to go on the ground to disperse them.

As of April 15, 2020, Malawi had 16 COVID-19 cases with two deaths.
