Prophet Favour faces backlash for fake prophecy

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-One of the country’s men of God, popularly known as Prophet Favour is under public attack for inciting violence following fake prophecy he made on missing child at Area 23, in the capital Lilongwe.

This prompted Malawi People went on rampage while tussling with angry communities over Favour’s fake prophecy.

According to our reporter who covered the fracas said the incident occurred after a four year child went missing in Area 23 on Tuesday, 26 January 2021.

Thereafter the deceased parents tried all they could searching for their missing Child to no avail.

Consequently, Prophet Favour, gave a prophecy that the child was kidnapped and hidden at a certain corner in certain lady’s House (Name withheld).

When the people of Area 23 got the wind about this prophecy, they descended on the lady’s house, searching for the child.

When the child wasn’t found in the room as prophesied, they bayed for her blood and that of her family.

They destroyed everything including her Butchery in Area 23. Her house was however burnt to ashes.

The family of the lady was whisked away by the police to safety.

After destroying the house, the angry mob descended on Area 23 Chipiku laying their hands on anything they found.

On Monday, 1 February 2021, it has been found out that the child drowned due to heavy rains and his body was found in a river. The body was taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital Mortuary days ago.

“We are requesting the police to question Prophet Favour who has caused a commotion in the area and made the family and business people lose property including Area 23 Chipiku Stores.The Prophet should be held liable for the losses suffered,” demanded a concerned resident of Area 23.

There was no immediate from police on how will deal with the fake prophet Favour for inciting violence.

Malawi Defense Force MDF) soldiers were deployed to restore order in Area 23 in Lilongwe but tension still remains high.
