LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-One of the country’s civil rights group activists Bright Kampaundi has died.

The late Kampaundi died at St Luke Diang hospital in the capital Lilongwe on Friday morning, February 21, 2025.

Forum for National Development (FND) National Coordinator Fyson Chodzi has confirmed the death of Kampaundi who was FND’s Board Chairperson.

Chodzi told the Maravi Post a while ago that the late Kampaundi was admitted at Diang Hospital last night after suffering from High blood pressure.

“He was later diagnosed with blood clotting in his head. The doctors recommended for surgery today as he was not responding any medication.

“It was until today, around 9:00 am he pronounce dead at the hospital,” shocked Chodzi.

He added, “We can’t go like this. We spoken yesterday not knowing it was our last conversation

“We will always remember him for his good and calm heart on national matter”.

According to Chodzi, the late Kampaundi burial will be held in Lilongwe, a date to be communicated.
