Malawi’s Six Top Gospel Musicians Team Up for a Fundraising Show in Support of a Church Project

Malawi’s six top gospel musicians have teamed up for a fundraising gospel show to be staged at the Robins Park in Blantyre on Easter Monday 6th April in support of a multi-purpose complex currently being constructed by St. James CCAP Church of the Blantyre Synod at its premises in Zingangwa township.

The Gospel Show dubbed “He is Alive Music Concept” will see Favoured Martha, Princess Chitsulo, King James Phiri, The Anglican Voices, Allan Chirwa and Grace Chinga sharing the stage in a bid to raise funds for a project which will house an Under-Five Clinic, among others.

Commenting about the development, St. James CCAP Church Fundraising Chairperson Frank Jomo said the project is projected to cost the Church K400 million. He said the Under-Five Clinic will benefit the people of Zingwangwa, Chilobwe, Green Corner, Manase, Somba and other surrounding areas. He said the project will benefit a cross section of people regardless of their faith.

“We are very thankful to the six musicians for making time to use their talent to support the work of the Lord. The project once completed will not only transform the face of Zingwangwa but also help children under the age of five have access to good medical care. As a Church we conduct different fundraising activities in order to raise funds for the project and therefore funds raised at the April 6 concert will go a long way in supporting the project,” said Jomo.

Jomo said charges at the concert have been pegged at K1,000.

“We ask all Malawians of goodwill to come and patronise the show in order to help the Church realise its dream of having a medical facility that will provide ultra modern medical services to the less privileged of the society,” he said.
