BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police in Limbe are keeping in custody Nkata Kangaude who is suspected of defiling a 13 year old girl and allegedly infecting her with HIV in M’mina village, Traditional Authority Chimaliro in Thyolo in June this year.
Limbe police Officer In-charge Francis Chisoti confirmed the development saying, Kangaude defiled the girl after coaxed her with MK1, 000.
The arrest comes barely hours after the victim’s mother and child rights activists spoke to Zodiak called for justice on the matter.
According to victim’s mother, she was asked to close the case by Nasadi police due to insufficient evidence and that the suspect would give her MK2 million.
The suspect is expected to appear before the court.
