MCHINJI-(MaraviPost)-Thirty-three-year-old Genesis Simkoza in the border district of Mchinji, on Thursday ended his life by hanging himself. This follows after his wife refused to have sex with him.

Mchinji police station spokesperson Kaitano Lubrino, told the Maravi Post that the deceased Simkoza on August 2, this year arrived home late at around 1900 hours in a state of intoxication. This did not please his wife; Blandina Kajawa who later refused to have sex to the husband.

Following the denial, an argument erupted between the two, a situation that prompted his wife to leave for her parents the same night.

“The wife thought it wise to inform the relatives about her husbands’ behaviour and it is believed that he willfully damaged and destroyed both windows and doors of his house before taking his life. Postmortem conducted by Mchinji District Hospital revealed that death was due to strangulation.

“The police in the district is appealing to the public to avoid resorting to suicide, but instead seek counsel from relevant members of the society when disagreements erupt between them as couples,” urges Lubrino.

The late Simkoza hailed from Malindima village, Traditional Authority (T.A.) Simphasi in Mchinji district.
