MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-The High Court in Mzuzu on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 ordered the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to conduct fresh primary elections in the Mzimba Central constituency.
In his ruling Justice Justus Kishindo observed that the party used a fraudulent electoral college against claimant Vitumbiko Mumba.
Mumba’s lawyer, Khumbo Soko, welcomed the ruling, saying it was clear the party used a fake voters’ roll, which was unfair to his client.
But Adamson Mkandawire, who is running against Mumba, said while he accepts the ruling, he is waiting for guidance from the party and remains confident he will win again.
MCP is yet to react to the development.
