MCP Lilongwe East legislator Ching’oma declares war against “Party Destroyers”

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Lilongwe East Member of Parliament, Ezekiel Ching’oma, has issued a stern warning to party members whom he accuses of destabilizing the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), vowing to defend the party against internal sabotage.

Speaking during a political rally in his constituency at Chowo ground on Sunday, April 27, Ching’oma praised the party’s Director of Youth (DOY) for honoring former Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka as a “die-hard” loyalist of the MCP.

He also applauded Robin Lowe for steadfastly standing with the party during its most challenging moments.

Ching’oma did not mince words as he condemned individuals within the party who he said act as though they “own” the MCP, warning that their disruptive actions would no longer be tolerated.

“We will deal with you. We are not Chakwera,” Ching’oma declared, drawing a clear line between his approach and that of President Lazarus Chakwera.

Using vernacular language, Ching’oma added: “Zafika kumapeto, mbewazi ndemuziti sitidya nawo, sitithana,” roughly meaning, “The end has come; we will not feast with those seeds of discord; we will confront them.”

His remarks come amid growing reports of internal strife within the MCP, with allegations that some members are attempting to undermine others by feeding false information to the party’s leadership.

Ching’oma’s strong statements underscore the growing tensions as the party grapples with factionalism ahead of future political battles.
