BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-News coming shows that Thyolo’s Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Director of Political Affairs Zithenga Banda has been found dead in the district.
The late Banda’s body has been discovered in a sugarcane field behind Conforzi Estate.
MCP Secretary General Chimwendo Banda Secretary General has confirmed the sudden death of Zithenga.
MCP Secretary General Banda claims that there might have been foul play in relation to the death linked to politics.
Secretary General of Malawi Congress Party, Richard Chimwendo Banda, says the party suspects foul play in the death of their Director of Political Affairs in Thyolo, Zinthenga Banda.
“We strongly suspect that this is linked to political violence but we shall let the police investigate.
“It is sad we have gotten to this stage,” says Chimwendo Banda in a telephone interview.
Currently, scores of people are on the scene where medics are conducting postmortem.
MCP district chairman, Ben Tambalawakuda Betha, has also confirmed the identity of the deceased and the office he held in the party.
The mood is sombre.
The late Zithenga went missing on Monday last week.
