BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is set to launch and release the calendar for by-elections scheduled to take place in five constituencies and nine wards today, Thursday, January 15, 2025.

The launch will be broadcast on various media houses, including MBC Radio 1, MBC Television, and other community radios and television stations across the country.

The Chairperson of MEC, Justice Annabel Mtalimanja, will deliver a recorded message announcing the by-elections calendar, with broadcast times ranging from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM on different media platforms.

This move is part of MEC’s efforts to ensure transparency and inclusivity in the electoral process.

The by-elections are expected to be a crucial test of Malawi’s democratic processes, with citizens eagerly awaiting the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.
