Medicals humble Wimbe to finish third in Nyasa Capital regional cup

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Namitete Chipiku Premier division side, St Gabriel Medicals, humbled Kasungu based side Wimbe United by three goals to nil at Silver Stadium to claim third place in the CRFA Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup played on Sunday, December 12, 2021.

Josphat Kwalira was a hero of the day after netting a hat trick,two goals in the first half and one in the second half at 30th, 41st and 60th minute respectively. It was the battle in which both teams started very well in the first 20 minutes of the first half.

But St Gabriel took charge of the game later on until the last whistle. Wimbe United was very weak in their left and right wings which gave room to Medicals to move freely.

Wimbe United changed four at 67th minute to regain the power but it was never to be as Medicals pinned them within their on half.

At 89th minute Harry Masiye was shown red card for second bookable offence. Few minutes later referee Amin Nyasulu blew the whistle to mark the end of the match and St Gabriel Medicals was confirmed third place finish in the central Region Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup.

Martin Mthetho Mkamanga, Coach for St Gabriel Medicals, was delighted with the victory and hailed his boys for displaying beautiful football.

He added that finishing on third in the cup is a relief as they struggled in Chipiku Premier league.

His Counterpart Jamu Binali acknowledged the defeat saying his boys have been affected by fatigue after playing many games in short period.

St Gabriel Medicals has gone home with MK200,000 for finishing third while Wimbe United will get home MK100,000 for finishing on fourth position.
