LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Many are artists in gospel music industry, but very few have discovered the specific message they have for people that can define them in Malawi.
For Susan Kumwenda, the Lilongwe-based new gospel artist, ministering hope, love, joy and worship God is what gives her fulfillment.
With her newly released single “Alpha and Omega,” Susan takes it back to the time when she lost all the confidence due to circumstances surrounding her.
She has used that experience to minister to others about the hope she unveiled the minute she discovered what God deposited in her.
“I want people to know God is with them throughout the journey of life. There was a time when I lost hope in my gift but I realised if God gave it to me, it means he was going to accomplish it,” she said.
Susan discovered her talent when she was in secondary school but she didn’t have the inspiration to pursue the dream.
Six months ago, God spoke to her and inspired her to pursue her gift. According to her, worship is what she is made for and one thing that will make her stand out from the rest of the gospel artists in Malawi is that she’s pursuing her calling and not just a talent.
She is motivated by Kim Walker, an American singer who according to her has a heart of worship and locally gets inspiration from the Chitheka’s.
The support from her loving and praying husband, Prophet Sanders Kumwenda who believes in her is also one of the core sources of her motivation.
After releasing her first single, Susan is planning to release her second song, “More than a miracle” on 31st December, 2019.
She has thanked God for such an amazing start and the likes of Paul Kachala, Mista Gray, Esther Chitheka Lewis, Kelving sings, Mastol, Saxess, Mwai Kumwenda and most importantly her family and several others for the support they have rendered to her throughout the production process of her song.
Susan has advised her fellow gospel artists to let music be a service unto God and to also trust God but most importantly not to be afraid of making mistakes.
